All Utah real estate is not
created equal. Homes in Salt
Lake City sell when other
markets in the state go flat,
and Sugar House real estate
moves fastest of all.
Sugar House and its
surrounding neighborhoods
are head and shoulders
above the rest. "This Old
House" magazine says it's
one of the best old-home
neighborhoods in the U.S. I
have lived here for more
than 30 years, and I have to

second that sentiment. Click through some of the links along the left side
of this page and I am sure you will agree that these neighborhoods offer a
combination of interesting architecture, natural beauty and convenience
unmatched in other parts of Salt Lake County. Here are a few great
reasons to start your Salt Lake City home search in Sugar House Utah.
1. No Commute:
Sugar House is just
a few minutes from
downtown and the
University of Utah.
Abutting two major
freeways, it is also
just minutes away
from surrounding
communities. It
takes about 10
minutes to get from
Sugar House Park
to the airport.
2. Houses With Character:
Sugar House properties are some of the
oldest in the Salt Lake Valley. They built
them solid in the old days, and entire
neighborhoods were constructed with
brick. Click the link at left called Old
House Styles to see the styles of homes
that make the Sugar House area unique.

Fun Attractions Around Every Corner

Like to bike?
In Sugar
House you
are never
more than a
few minutes' ride
from a great trail,
Canyon (top left) or
on the Bonneville
Shoreline Trail. Sugar
House Park is a
gorgeous urban
green space. Hogle
Zoo is walking
distance from some
neighborhoods, as is
Bonneville Golf
Course.
Emigration Creek is a natural gem that runs through several Sugar
House neighborhoods. I take my dog there daily (and pick up after her).
Click on Salt Lake Attractions at left to view a more complete list of the
area's amenities. Folks in South Jordan or Daybreak can get in their
cars, fight traffic for 45 minutes and visit these places, too. From many
streets in Sugar House, you can walk.
The Best Schools in the State

Sugar House area
schools always top the
list for Utah. Many,
such as Bonneville
Elementary in the
Harvard/Yale
neighborhood, are
brand-new. Salt Lake
City voters passed a
bond a few years ago
to knock down and rebuild every school in the district. Despite this huge
investment in infrastructure, property taxes in Salt Lake City are low
compared with most states. The same is true for other Utah communities.
